Release 1.0.1 – Now Publicly Available for Download

By Asimakis Kokkos

At the beginning of the year, we announced the completion of our first MulteFire technical specification – Release 1.0 – a key milestone in bringing MulteFire to market. The Release 1.0, which is now in a phase of maintenance and further improvement, was initially available only to Alliance members as early access to specification work is a member benefit. Release 1.0, version 1.0.1 is now publicly available for download.

The Alliance is dedicated to enabling a robust ecosystem; providing broad availability of our Release 1.0 is yet another step toward achieving our vision.

Release 1.0 enables real-world deployments with the ability to deploy standalone LTE networks in unlicensed or shared spectrum. This solution solves a very real problem developers are facing in enterprise IT applications, industrial IoT, and several other scenarios. The specification allows anyone to create, install and operate their own private or neutral host MulteFire network.

The Alliance is also at work on Release 1.1, targeted for publication in Q4, which will provide additional IoT optimizations. Follow us on Twitter and connect with us on LinkedIn to stay up to date on Alliance news.
