Nokia introduces networking solution to help customers utilize private 4.9G/LTE

Finnish telecom giant Nokia has stated that its MultiFire Alliance (MFA) certified 4.9G/LTE private wireless networking solution—the MulteFire router 700 user equipment UE will now be available for deployment with Nokia Digital Automation Cloud. Nokia said its private wireless solution is suitable for both, permanent networking and temporary deployments, to support media broadcasting and other use cases.

MulteFire is an LTE-based technology which primarily operates in unlicensed spectrum, including the global 5GHz band. Nokia said the pre-integrated solution will help the new carrier-grade 4.9G/LTE private wireless to a host of new users. It underlined that the new service is available for global deployment, and can be used by customers currently without access to licensed spectrum. It can be even used to add more capacity over 5GHz unlicensed spectrum.

The new networking solution MulteFire has the potential to contribute to private wireless networking adoption and it also has an added ability to deploy over unlicensed spectrum. Nokia is now predominantly focusing on easing deployment based on a plug-and-play approach which later could make it a compelling consideration for enterprises that are worried about the complexities of managing cellular networking infrastructure.
