Dr. Geng Wu is an Intel Fellow and Chief Technologist for wireless standards in the Platform Engineering Group at Intel Corporation. He leads Intel’s fifth-generation (5G) wireless standards development and ecosystem collaboration. He also heads Intel’s delegation to 3GPP.
Dr. Wu contributed extensively to global 2G CDMA, 3G 1xRTT, UMTS, HSPA and 4G WiMAX, LTE radio interface and network architecture design and development. At Intel he contributed to Cloud-RAN and Internet of Things technology and platform development before taking on wireless standards development responsibility, with special focus on 4G LTE and LTE-A development. Most recently, he led Intel’s 5G air interface and network standards development, working with internal and external partners on the next generation compute and communication technologies from end to end.
