The MulteFire Alliance and the Alliance of Industrial Internet Announce Collaboration to Advance Industrial IoT Connectivity

BEIJING and FREMONT, CA – September 4, 2018, The MulteFire Alliance, an international association dedicated to building a global ecosystem in support of mobile cellular technology in unlicensed and shared spectrum, and the Alliance of Industrial Internet (AII), a joint effort of industrial sectors to accelerate the development of industrial Internet, have announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore LTE connectivity for the industrial internet. A signing ceremony took place on September 1 at the 2018 Yangtze River Delta Industrial Internet Summit in Shanghai. Together, the MulteFire Alliance and AII will advance MulteFire™ technology operation in the industrial internet as well as harmonize various aspects of connectivity.

“Wireless technology could be deployed flexibly and reduce wiring costs. Robust wireless connectivity is important to the transformation of the manufacturing industry in China and abroad, and it is a major component for the industrial internet,” said Xiaohui Yu, General Secretary, AII. “We believe that MulteFire is a critical technology for enabling industrial IoT, and we look forward to collaborating with the MulteFire Alliance.”

  • Test beds and research and development projects
  • Coordinate in promoting the industrial internet industry and standards
  • Establish a good understanding of how to deploy cellular technologies in unlicensed and shared spectrum for industrial internet use cases
